May 21, 2014
They say the best things in life are worth waiting for and for Chrysler brand fans, the wait is finally over! Since it was first revealed at the Detroit North American International Auto Show four months ago, the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 is now making its way into dealerships and onto a road near you.
The vehicle launched on May 8, and within two days, more than 17,000 orders were placed by dealers. The Sterling Heights (Mich.) Assembly Plant (SHAP) is at full production through mid-July and orders continue to roll in.
“The Chrysler brand is thrilled to see the level of enthusiasm customers and dealers have shown to order the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200,” Al Gardner, President and CEO—Chrysler Brand, said. “With a standard nine-speed automatic transmission, a choice of two powertrains with fuel economy ratings of up to 36 miles per gallon highway, an available state-of-the art all-wheel drive system, and an interior that will wow drivers and passengers alike, the new Chrysler 200 is raising the bar for what customers should expect from a mid-size sedan.”
With additional features such as electronic shifting with a rotary e-dial, exceptional ride and handling characteristics, and safety and security features typically found on vehicles that cost thousands of dollars more, the new 200 is a car drivers will enjoy driving.
Consumers have a choice between the standard 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine which has been rated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency at 23 mpg city, 36 mpg highway— a 5 mpg improvement versus the outgoing model—and 28 mpg combined.
Or they can opt for the best-in-class 295 horsepower Pentastar V-6 engine rated at 19 mpg city, 32 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined.
Recently named as one of Ward’s 10 Best Interiors for 2014, the interior of the new 200 is loaded with standard and optional features not found on other mid-size sedans including a clever center console with the most available interior storage space in the segment, sliding cup holders, multiple power outlets and a unique pass-through storage space accessible to both the driver and front seat passenger.
With 60 available safety and security features, the most in the segment, the new 200 is engineered to exceed customer expectations in every category in the segment with an available, best-in-class, all-wheel drive system; easy-to-use, state-of-the-art technology and a starting U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail price of just $21,700 (excluding destination).
